afterthechristmasserviceyoungpeoplereceivedgiftsofspecialchocolate,specialcookies,andspecialcrackers.youngpeopleweretoldthatthegiftscomefromfatherchristmas,andthisalwaysmeantchristmasforus.theyalsoreceivednewclothesandperhapsnewpairsofshoes.meanwhilethroughoutthecelebration,everyonewasgreetedwiththespecialgreetingword,"afishapa"meaningmerrychristmasandhappynewyear.
ohhowiwishthatthosememorieswererealtonightinordertobringuschristmas.however,thischristmasevethingsweredifferentandiknewchristmaswouldnevercome.everyonewassadanddesperatebecauseofwhathappenedlastaprilwhentheso-calledarmyofliberationattackedourvillageandtookalltheyoungboysandgirlsaway.
每个人都在期待我们教堂平安夜的庆祝活动,活动以后大街小巷充满了欢乐的气氛.每个人和当地的乐师一起都沉浸在节日的欢乐海洋里,接着我们在圣诞日我们大家重返教堂念诵经文,唱赞美诗,以此来重温祝福圣婴诞生的意义.我们那时候总认为这就是圣诞了.
圣诞活动后,孩子们会收到圣诞礼物,如特制巧克力,小甜饼和饼干.人们告诉孩子们这些礼物都是圣诞老人给的,这对我们来说就是圣诞节了.他们也许还会收到新衣服,新鞋子,同时整个的庆祝活动,每人都互贺新禧,"阿飞莎帕"意思就是圣诞快乐和新年吉祥.
噢,我多么希望这些美好的回忆在今晚也是真实的,以便再把美好的圣诞带给我们.但是,今晚的平安夜却已经大不相同,我知道,圣诞将不再回来.每个人都悲痛欲绝,因为去年四月所谓的"解放军"袭击了我们村子,屠杀了所有的男孩和女孩.

*lookforwardto:期望,后面加名词或者动名词.
*service:这里指的是平安夜的宗教庆祝活动,如弥撒等.service这个单词意思也很多,如,服务,服役,服刑等,还有发球的意思.
*joyouspossessionthroughthestreets:欢乐充满了整个街道.possession:占有,占领.意思整个街道都洋溢着节日的气氛.
*beinagalamood:沉浸在节日的氛围里,下面inamardigrasmood也是差不多的意思,mardigras是天主教徒的狂欢活动.同样的用法还有:beinahappymood(快乐心情)
*scriptures:bible,经文.它还有手稿的意思.
